The Nature of Work website is a website operated by DWG.

DWG is a strategic partner, covering all aspects of the evolving digital workplace industry through membership, benchmarking and consultancy services. DWG provides independent expertise to more than 100 leading corporations and public institutions to advance client intranets and broader digital workplaces, through peer learning, independent evaluations and practitioner expertise.

DWG is the data controller responsible for the information collected via this Website and/or contracts we have with you. Our EU GDPR representative is Rickert Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH.

The personal information we collect from you is your name, personal or work address, personal or work email address, personal or work telephone number, password and log-in details if you create an account on our website, financial and/or payment details if you are purchasing from us, IP address and information regarding which pages are accessed and when.

We also collect personal information from you about anyone for whom you have requested delivery of your order; including name, address, telephone number.

Contract

We process your personal data for the purpose of complying with our contractual obligations, for example.

  • when you enter into a contract of sale when placing an order.
  • when you enter into a contract to attend an event including one for which you have paid
  • when you enter into contract negotiations with DWG as a business

We process your personal data under “contract” for the purposes of:

  • fulfilling the supply of products or services you have ordered from us such as sharing your information with our warehousing and delivery service providers on the basis of performing our contract with you.
  • dealing with order related queries
  • taking payment via e-commerce providers such as Stripe Payments
  • handling order related issues such as order cancellations, returns and refunds
  • negotiating a contract between you and DWG (when you are a business customer)
Consent

In specific situations we can collect and process your data with your consent, for example, we will ask for your consent before:

  • we forward your details to a third party so they can contact you to invite you to an event or any other marketing purposes for which you give consent
  • email you to tell you about our products and services such as new Website features, new books or products that we believe may interest you
  • email you to invite you to events we are hosting
  • To carry out research about general engagement with our Website, products and services

When you complete an online form you will be asked for your consent to send you newsletters and updates. If you choose not to opt-in, we will not send you newsletters and updates. How long is your information held?

We hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity and to provide you with the services that you have requested from us,as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us, or until you ask us to delete your information. Some information we hold will be retained to fulfil our legal and/or statutory obligations, for example, because of our obligations to the tax authorities or in connection with anticipated legislation.

Who has access to your information?

We only share your information with third parties in connection with the purpose and lawful grounds described above in order to provide the services detailed in this privacy statement or which you expect from us as part of your contract. These include third parties we work with to deliver our business including, for example, third party providers of services such as e-commerce payment systems, book warehouse and distribution services, services involved with hosting, operating or developing the Website. We make sure that the third parties which handle your information are GDPR compliant, that your data is secure and that your privacy is protected.

  • We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.
  • We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes without explicitly asking for your permission ahead of time.

We use Stripe Payments as our payment processing platform.

When you order a book from this website your delivery information is sent to Minatus Limited who are responsible for shipping your order. Some of your data is stored in WordPress. Access to information is by username and password combinations.

Contact forms submitted to us are held by Wufoo and Mailchimp. Access to information is by user name and password combinations. We advise you to look at Wufoo and Mailchimp’s respective privacy statements for more information.

Does DWG transfer your information outside the United Kingdom?

As part of the services offered to you through this website, the information which you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the United Kingdom (UK). This may happen if any of the hosted servers or hosted infrastructure on which our services and tools are based are from time to time located in a country outside the UK. We will only transfer to those countries or organizations outside the UK if the country or organisation is covered by the UK ‘adequacy regulations’ or can demonstrate that they are GDPR compliant, for example, by having Data Protection Agreements and/or contracts that are based on the UK’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, if applicable, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
