What kinds of habitats do you explore for your work?

Grateful to have been invited to pre-read the Nature of Work by my friends, Shimrit Janes and Paul Miller, in my own #habitat. This work is so relevant and timely it’s difficult to believe it began, pre-COVID. I truly believe this is a must read for anyone, in any line of work.

I’m on my second way through and I’m digging deeper on what the workplace of the future will look like. I realize that this period of remote working has given me the opportunity to reflect on where I do my best work. Before COVID, I would have emphatically told you that I do my best work in the office. But this experience has taught me, it depends.

For example, when I want to focus on reading or researching I sit at this little table that I found left out on the sidewalk in my neighbourhood. It doesn’t have a great view but it gets a good deal of natural light and has the the plants I’ve managed not to kill during quarantine, which makes me feel like quite the accomplished nurturer. Not to mention being surrounded by all the books my friends have published this year, which inspires me in my own writing.

What kinds of habitats do you explore for your work?
